Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the daily plant level activities of the Human Resources (HR) department including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, leave administration, benefits open enrollment, employee engagement and overall ensuring that the plant maintains a positive and safe working environment.
Partners with the Plant Manager and local management staff to develop and implement programs, processes, or actions to drive employee engagement and retention.
Ensures compliance with Federal, State, or local laws.

Responsibilities:
Partners with the plant leadership team to understand current and future business needs and develops an HR plan to address gaps, concerns or future needs Collaborates with the corporate HR & Payroll teams to support rollout or implementation of organization wide HR/Payroll projects at the plant level Directly handle, investigate, or provide guidance to HR team and management on HR issues that are complex, regulatory, specialized, and/or sensitive as engaging in reasonable accommodation discussions, investigating allegations of discrimination, retaliation, harassment or wrongdoing, and terminations Works with corporate/regional safety leaders to ensure plant level safety is driving compliance with company, Federal and State safety regulations including maintaining a safe working environment for all employees Plans and executes comprehensive recruiting action plans to maintain a strong funnel of qualified applicants to fill open positions and meet daily or weekly hiring targets Ensures bi-weekly and weekly payroll is processed accurately and on a timely basis following the payroll schedule including training supervisors on proper approvals of working hours Ensures proper administration of Worker Compensation, FMLA and short-term disability claims in compliance with company, third party administrator and applicable laws and policies Maintains personnel, payroll, safety, legal or regulatory records as required by law Analyzes trends in hiring, compensation, and benefits; researches and proposes local competitive counter actions to attract and retain a stable and qualified workforce Helps investigate workplace accidents/incidents to identify root causes and support implementation of actions to avoid re-occurrence Conducts annual or as needed local market wage surveys to research competitive wage rates Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees Partners with Continuous Improvement leaders to identify improvement areas within HR and facilitate Kaizen events to eliminate redundancies, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies Works with management team members to ensure all disciplinary, terminations, and investigations actions are handled respectfully, timely and compliant with company policies or statutory regulations Leads and supports the development of community relations to increase plant/company brand recognition in the local labor market Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, safety, talent management, and employment law Performs other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required 7 years of human resources experience, including 5 years in a human resources supervisory role to include employee relations, staffing, benefits, safety, and/or attendance management Knowledge of applicable employment laws including FMLA, Worker Compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA, wage & hour, etc.
